Do you enjoy discovering historic manor houses and small châteaux but don’t have time to travel all over Slovakia? How about taking a look at one exceptional place that reveals more than two centuries of history? Látkovce Manor House welcomes you with its unique atmosphere and captivating stories—no time machine required.
Built in the first half of the 19th century in Classical style as a manor of the noble Latkóczy family. The building was rebuilt into a château in 1918 by landowner Karol Nachlinger from Zvěstov in the Czech lands. After the Second World War, it served as one of Slovakia’s largest Pioneer camps, shaping many generations. In the past, the manor was visited by important figures of Slovak history, including Ľudovít Štúr, Alexander Dubček, and Jozef Tiso.
Today, Látkovce Manor House is gradually returning to the map of heritage sites thanks to the civic association Staré časy. Although it is still under reconstruction and not all original Classical details remain, visitors can enjoy guided tours and a retro toy museum. During the visit, you will learn fascinating facts about the manor’s history and the demanding restoration process.
A trip to Látkovce Manor House can be combined with visits to Uhrovec, Sivý Kameň or Bojnice castles, the Bojnice Zoo, or Uhrovec birth houses. From Látkovce, Jankov Vŕšok is easily accessible, making it an ideal starting point or destination for regional trips.
Látkovce Manor House is thus an ideal combination of history, nostalgia, and an educational experience for families, school trips, and all lovers of architecture and cultural heritage.
