Day trips from Trenčín

In Trenčín and its surroundings you will find everything your heart desires – castles, lookout towers, picturesque hiking trails, small churches, an old monastery, farmhouses and ponds where you can taste delicious baked fish, as well as spas where you can relax and unwind. Tips for trips can be found in the Trenčín Area Trips brochure, which can be downloaded in Slovak or English, or picked up at the Trenčín Cultural and Information Centre on Mierové Square 9.

In the surroundings of Trenčín you will find not only Trenčín Castle but also Beckov Castle, Čachtice Castle and the ruins of Vršatec Castle. If you want to see more castles, chateaus and manor houses from all over Slovakia, be sure to visit the Miniature Park in Podolie, where there are more than 70 models.

Families with children will certainly be interested in the Lubina Minifarm with miniature pets or the Uhliská Farmstead, where you can ride a horse, feed the animals, but also taste some of the farm products produced directly on the farmstead. Not far from there is the Malý Jelenec lookout tower, from where you can see the panorama of the White Carpathians and the Strážov Hills. Other lookout towers are at the top of Považský Inovec or in Soblahov, the Dúbravka lookout tower.

If you like hiking, do not forget to go to Považský Inovec, which is the highest mountain in the area. An easy hike is to Cliffs of Vršatec, where you can also see the ruins of Vršatec Castle. The ancient churches in Haluziace and Pominovec have an unrepeatable charm, as well as the nearby monastery at Veľká Skalka, where the hermits St. Andrej-Svorad and St. Benedikt lived in ancient times. After a full day of exploring the region, it will certainly be a good idea to take a break and relax in the spa in Trenčianske Teplice.
